About NorCal Girl Powered
Although the gender imbalance in STEM has been decreasing over the years, women still are in the minority most STEM fields. We, in collaboration with the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation (RECF) and Google, Inc., host this workshop so all students feel encouraged to try robotics and feel the support of the robotics community. During this two day workshop, middle and high school girls will learn about robotics, build and program a robot, compete in a tournament, and visit mini-workshops and booths. This event is intended for students with little to no experience in robotics, programming or related fields. It’s a great way to spark curiosity and introduce the students to STEM concepts and the growing field of robotics. Sessions are planned for a wide range of student experience levels and interests.
